Situation:

The organization had been operating an inventory management system that required refinement to accommodate its expanding scope. Teams needed a centralized starting point for their daily operational tasks, while leadership sought actionable data, insights, and metrics to drive decision-making. Additionally, stakeholders wanted to stay informed about status updates, business trends, upcoming product launches, and significant market events that could impact their operations.

Task:

Our team was tasked with identifying solutions to meet the diverse requirements of all teams utilizing the product inventory management tool. We aimed to develop a role-based system that would provide each team with a customized starting point tailored to their specific daily responsibilities and workflows.

Action:

Audit and Discovery:

• The Browse team required visibility into collections, performance metrics, and indexing information to support their operations.


• The Search team sought functionality to track page visits, monitor trend changes, and access detailed management logs.


• The Attribution team needed robust querying tools, real-time change notifications, and comprehensive views of attribute modifications.


• Meanwhile, the SEO team requested access to hyper-categories to streamline their daily operational workflows.

Design:

• Following the research phase, we developed wireframe concepts and prototypes for testing with each stakeholder group. This iterative approach enabled us to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments while refining our design concepts before moving forward with development.

Result:

This robust platform delivers essential functionality through several new features, including product indexing, automated notifications, status indicators, timestamped log changes, and most importantly a customized starting point tailored to each target group's specific needs.
